Ecole Ronsard holds 2nd Graduation, 5th Speech and Prize-giving Day

Gowns, speeches, certificates and prizes! That was the order of the day on the memorable occasion of our 2nd Graduation and 5th Speech and Prize-giving day ceremony. It definitely was a time of joy and celebration for parents, graduands and pupils of the school as those who exceled in various disciplines were awarded.

The program, commenced with the procession of the school’s admin staff and a speech by the Guest of Honour, Secretary to the Cabinet, Madam Mercy Yvonne Debrah-Karikari.

In her speech, Madam Mercy Yvonne Debrah-Karikari, cautioned parents against neglecting discipline as a core value in bringing up children. Stressing the importance teaching children about humanness, she said, ‘Let’s teach our children the importance of responsibility. Let’s teach them the essence of being each other’s keeper. Let us instill in them what it means to be human.  Let us let them know that life is more than grades…’

The event also featured musical recitals, ballet and taekwondo performances by students and pupils. It was a surprise to see some parents join their kids in the taekwondo display! When it got to presentation of awards, parents could not hide their pride as they marched to the stage to get a good view of their kids.

Graduation

This year’s graduation saw seven students graduate from the Primary department into the Secondary department after exceling in the Cambridge Checkpoint exams which was held in May 2019.

Overall, Senam Gaba of year six was adjudged the Valedictorian of the 2018/2019 academic year, with Panyin Acheampong also of year six emerging as the French Valedictorian.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the school, Professor Agyemang-Badu Akosa congratulated the students and charged them to keep being achievers.

Graduation is never complete without a party right? Of course! Aside from picture taking and throwing hats in the air, there was a party for all the graduates where it was all eating, dancing and merry-making. A big congratulation to the 2018/2019 graduating class for making us proud! We wish you the very best!
