Ronsard STEAM Week Celebration: Unleashing Creativity and Ingenuity

Education is no longer confined to traditional textbooks and lectures in this ever-changing world. To get ready for the future, teachers are increasingly urging students to experiment, create, and think creatively.

STEAM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics thus has become a prominent educational approach employed by schools to cultivate creativity and innovation in students, owing to its relevance, and Ecole Ronsard is no exception to this trend.

STEAM at Ronsard has evolved into an annual event that highlights our dedication to a comprehensive educational strategy. This year’s event was held under the theme “Harmonious Fusion: Bridging Art and Technological Innovation,” and both teachers and students went to great lengths to ensure that the two-day event would be genuinely remarkable.

The Festivities Unfold

The event kickstarted with a dedication to technological innovations, with a primary focus on the evolutionary journey of cars across different eras. Students enthusiastically created artworks depicting the progression from the earliest cars to contemporary vehicles and even ventured into the realm of future automotive designs.

Guided by robotics, students were led through the intricacies of constructing a functional prototype car, which came to life with an application downloaded on a phone. The day ended with an exhilarating experience – a ride in an electric car meticulously assembled in Ghana. This electric car was thoughtfully compared with a conventional fuel-powered vehicle, providing a unique perspective on technological advancements in the automotive industry.

Interactive Displays

Students were granted the chance to immerse themselves in the wonders of STEAM through an interactive talk show and a quiz. The quiz revolved around mathematical questions intertwined with the arts, and the students took on the dual roles of hosts and active participants in an open discussion that delved into the multifaceted realms of technology and the profound influence of artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, with the integration of technology, the Ronsard E-library and blog were officially launched. Consequently, both students and staff now have the capability to select and read books of their preference at their convenience.

Arts Meets Technology

In its most basic form, art is a representation of human ingenuity. Filmmaking was one way that the fusion of artistic and technological innovation was expressed during this year’s STEAM Week. Experienced film director Pascal Aka led the students that explore the intriguing topic of “the narrative of art, storytelling, and science.”

The students were taken on a tour of the many steps involved in making a movie, given a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse, and investigated the significant role that technology plays in this artistic process. The students’ excitement for the seminar was infectious, and they cheered and applauded loudly throughout. The students excitedly followed the seminar on this thrilling film adventure, creating a frenzy that never subsided.

Building The future

Understanding how art and technology coexist in the modern world is only one aspect of STEAM education. Architecture has transformed because of the incorporation of science and technology, producing creative ideas, improved sustainability, and more effective building methods. With the help of science and technology, your architectural ambitions can become an amazing reality, whether you have passion for skyscrapers, sustainable designs, or urban planning.

The two-day event ended in a seminar facilitated by an architect, who explored the fascinating subject of “Designing the World: Where Technology Meets Engineering in Epic Ways.” He discussed the creative ways that science and technology have had a significant impact on the architecture sector during this thought-provoking talk.

The architect led the students through a useful tutorial on easily creating architectural designs using a hands-on method. He gave pupils a demonstration of how to become adept at space design with amazing ease and accuracy by only turning on their computers and gaining access to a designated platform.

Unleashing Creativity

The STEAM week celebration reflects the school’s dedication to providing the best possible learning experiences for its students. The school understands that education is not just about memorizing facts and figures but about nurturing individuals who can think critically, express themselves creatively, and adapt to an ever-changing world.

As we reflect on the success of this event, it is evident that STEAM education is a powerful catalyst for empowering our students to think outside the box, collaborate effectively, and prepare for a future where creative thinking and problem-solving will be paramount. The Ronsard STEAM WEEK Celebration stands as a testament to the endless possibilities that arise when creativity and ingenuity are set free through holistic and forward-thinking educational initiatives.
